Trust God Without a Timeline

Can you trust God when He gives you a command but doesn’t tell you how everything will work out?

In this message from SWAT: Spiritual Warfare and Tactics, we continue through Acts 7, where Stephen stands before his accusers and begins his defense in an unexpected place: the story of Abraham.

Instead of defending himself, Stephen points backward and tells the story of what God did. Abraham received a command to leave everything familiar and go to a land God would show him. There was no detailed roadmap. He simply received a command and a promise.

This message reminds us that God is not confined to what we have constructed. His presence is not limited to a church building. Through the Holy Spirit, believers carry His presence into classrooms, workplaces, neighborhoods, and difficult moments where people desperately need the hope of Jesus.

But following God also requires faith when we cannot see the outcome.

Abraham waited years for Isaac and never personally possessed all the land God promised. Yet God's faithfulness was never determined by Abraham’s circumstances. Waiting did not mean God had stopped working.

Our culture teaches us to trust what we can track. Faith teaches us to trust the character of the God we cannot see.

And ultimately, Scripture shows us that the greatest promise has already been fulfilled in Jesus. The question becomes:

If God never gives me everything I’m asking for, is the cross enough?
