El Elyon: What Has the Highest Place in Your Life?

In this message, Pastor Dan continues the Names of God series by teaching on El Elyon, meaning God Most High. El Elyon is above all, over all, and yet near enough to cover those who draw close to Him.

Through Psalm 91, the story of Jesus calming the storm, David crying out from the cave, Abram’s encounter with Melchizedek, and the lordship of Jesus, this sermon challenges us to ask a simple but life-changing question: what has the highest place in my life?

Fear, money, control, comfort, sin, politics, people’s opinions, and past pain can all try to become “most high.” But only God deserves the final word. When we surrender to El Elyon, we do not have to live exposed to fear, shame, sin, or the enemy’s strongholds. We can live under the shadow of the Almighty, trusting that no storm, no enemy, no failure, no diagnosis, and no past is higher than Him.
